Itinerary

You will experience a one of a kind guided fly fishing experience made just for you or your group. All gear is included. Our expert guides will take the time to teach proper casting to new anglers or help fine tune the seasoned veteran. At Mayfly Fishing we pride ourselves on working a little bit harder to provide a special day on the water. That may mean a little longer hike to escape the crowds, a custom lunch or creating a friendly tournament for your corporate retreat.
The day starts with either a pick up or a meet on the river. You will get all of your gear on, that is provided by your guide, at the meeting spot. The walk down to the river is anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Your guide will start by explaining fish feeding habits, location and bug life. Your guide will take plenty of time to explain how to cast to, present to, catch and release fish.You won't stay in one spot all day. Our guides are all about making the most of your time on the water while getting to experience as much as you can. Full days will break for lunch around noon, while half days will usually fish straight through lunch until roughly 2pm. Snacks and drinks are provided on half days.

I booked this trip and was immediately contacted by Cody to confirm. I met up with Nikki. She was awesome. So chill and easy going. Her adorable dog Nala joined us. I had a blast. It took a while to figure out what I was doing but I did end up catching 4 fish. I'm somewhat of a klutz so I ended up slipping on a rock in the river. Fortunately I didn't take on too much water but enough to get me nice and drenched. When I spoke to Cody he recommended to not wear jeans. I wore leggings but my shirt was cotton. I recommend bringing an extra set of clothes just in case as well as a waterproof jacket. This activity was really a blast! I was fortunate to have a great instructor and catch a few fish as well.

My husband and I booked a fly fishing afternoon with Mayfly Fishing. What an enjoyable experience we had. Our guide Cody Salin was so accommodating, attentive and took care of our every need. His personal love of fly fishing makes him the perfect guide and it gave us a thrilling and joyful day on the river. We would give this company more than five stars if possible. We’ll be back!! First class experience and definitely will use Cody and his company again. We were beginners, but learned the techniques through patience (theirs and ours) and out entire family, wife and two teenagers had a blast and caught a lot of fish. Cody and Avi had the process, the places and the equipment dialed in.

Cody was amazing. My husband and I had varying levels of experience and Cody made our day of fly fishing a pleasure for us both. We learned so much - each at our own level, and simultaneously got to enjoy the beauty of our settings. We moved about to various locations and Cody was kind, patient and informative the entire time. We cannot wait to return!

Cody, you Sir, are an awesome guide! Ok, so my wife surprised me with a guided fly fishing trip for Fathers Day while we were on vacation in Park City, Utah. I’ve never been fly fishing before and neither has my wife or any of my 5 daughters. We decided to take our youngest daughter with us so there’s 3 of us doing this guided trip. I’ll just say it was the highlight of my entire vacation!!! My 8 year old caught quite a few trout and Rocky Mountain Whitefish and my wife and I did also. Cody was very knowledgeable and extremely patient with us. We had such a good time. As soon as we were done, we started talking to Cody about when to set up another guided trip. I can’t say enough about the quality of his guided fishing trips. He’s the one we want from now on! Thank you Cody! Thank you Bridget for surprising me with this precious memory!

Had an awesome day with Cody during my beginner fly fishing course. He packed in a ton of knowledge and helped me in my casting technique immensely. Learned a ton and even got on the water and caught my first ever fish on a fly rod. Perfect day course for beginners who really want to learn more about fly fishing so they can get out and do it themselves!

A little delayed in writing this review but I wanted to give Cody & Matt the recognition for providing a VERY enjoyable two days floating the Green River below Fontenelle Reservoir last fall. The four of us friends met Matt & Cody below the dam both days and proceeded to catch a bunch of nice sized trout and whitefish. The best part of the trip was how much they taught me about fly fishing over the 2 days and the laughs were non stop too. Shore lunch was fun just telling stories and learning about different aspects of fly fishing. I am a hard core lake fisherman and a below average fly fisherman so it was nice to have them pointing things out that helped me catch more fish. They are both very attentive to your needs and they take safety on the water seriously. Great guys with good personalities for the jobs they do. We will be going out with them again this year and I can't wait! Highly recommended for the novice as well as the advanced fly fishermen & women. You won't be disappointed if you book a trip with them!

After triple checking the weather leading up to our day fishing. Cody met us at the middle Provo. He was very concerned we fished the proper water given the weather conditions. What a great choice. My fifteen year old son and I were on fish all day. The scenery was gorgeous. Best of all was our guide Cody. Not only did he put us on lots of fish, he was friendly, professional and a fun guy to spend the day with. I have hired a lot of fishing guides and have had all kinds. Cody gets an A+ in my book. I can’t wait to fish with him again. Given the time of year we fished tiny nymphs for rainbows, browns and whitefish. Hooked up on 30 and landed slide to 20- awesome experience.

Cody was an awesome guide! I am in SLC for work for 2 months and fly fishing was on my bucket list. Cody was patient and very informative. Caught a ton of whitefish and some brown trout. He picked me up and dropped me off too which saved me the $$ of having to rent a car or Uber. Great time fishing!
